Beat The Backlist Challenge 2017

I have decided to join in the #beatthebacklist challenge which is hosted by Austine from Novelknight. You can find more information about the reading challenge here.

Basically it works like this: you create a TBR of books published before 2017 and you read them! The challenge runs from January 2017 until December 2017, so a year long. It doesn’t matter how many books are on your TBR.

The Beat the Backlist Challenge is focused on knocking off titles that have been on your TBR for a while, or even ones that get pushed aside for new releases. Over the years, and especially this one, I’ve noticed that new releases are getting more and more attention while our TBRs continue to grow. — Novelknight

btbhpcupsicons_gryffindorThere are also additional challenges in which you are divided into the Hogwarts houses and there is something with instagram challenges and scavengers hunts but I don’t know how that’s going to be. Sounds like fun though! Anyway, I have decided to join Gryffindor because I’m weird and I felt bad for all the lovely Gryffindors, because apparently they’re rare! The Gryffindor group is remarkably smaller than the other ones, and even though I’m not really a Gryffindor (more of a Ravenpuff/Huffleclaw), I am going to join them! Pottermore says I’m a Gryffindor and it would probably be unwise to go against the sorting hat’s wishes haha.

My TBR is on goodreads here. I was doubtful about joining because I don’t normally plan that far ahead. But then I realized that there were quite some books I planned on reading anyway and didn’t have time to do so before. A lot of the books I already own, or was planning on buying soon. The TBR will probably change throughout the year though. A full post on the TBR will probably show up on this blog somewhere next month.

Let me know whether you will be participating as well! Have you read some of the books on my TBR? And is your TBR also slowly trying to suffocate you?

    1. Ooh great! Do you know which house you’ll join? I might be participating in your readathon as well but I’ll have to see whether I’ve got the time 🙂

Let me hear your thoughts!
