Top Ten Tuesday | 2016 releases I really was planning to read in 2016 *nods convincingly*

Since I started blogging in the summer I discovered the world of new releases, I never read any new books before. So of course my TBR suddenly exploded with new books to read. And some of those I never got around to reading them. Either because new books are relatively expensive (and usually not on sale) or just because I never got around to reading them. Here’s a short list of books I was planning on reading, but never did.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly returning meme by the Broke and the Bookish.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

I loved the Lunar Chronicles and I’m currently reading (or actually listening to) Stars Above, and I love it so much. I can’t wait to read this book.

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

After I devoured Everything, Everything, I just need more Nicola Yoon!

A Million Worlds with You by Claudia Gray

I really want to read this book in order to complete this absolutely stunning trilogy (that is also very good)!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by Jack Thorne

I heard so many good and bad things about this that I need to know what my opinion is. Luckily, I won’t have to buy this book because my brother got it for Christmas (so I can now go steal it).

United as One by Pittacus Lore

I was planning on reading the entire series but quit after the one-but-last one because they didn’t have the last two at the library.

This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab

After I heard about this book, I just needed to read a V.E. Schwab book! It sounds so good!

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

More Morgan Matson, yes please!

I realize that there are only 7 books on this list, but these are all the books I was planning to read in 2016 that also came out in 2016. Have you read any of these books? Which of these should I really have read?

  1. Since starting to blog I’ve came into a whole new world of new releases, I always read just whatever I wanted but new releases are now starting to make my TBR list too and I’ve got to say I’m also guilty of not reading any that I was meaning to yet haha! I wanted to read Heartless and This Savage Song too D: – Sarah xoxo

    1. I always try to not buy new books before I read some of the ones I already own, but then I end up going to the library and read some books I wasn’t even planning on reading! And they never have new releases at the library so they always end up not being read. Maybe I should change my priorities, but I just am unable to leave the library without a book (or more like 5 :P)

  2. the unexpected everything is soooo good! oh, and don’t let the hype around cursed child turn you off of it, it was still really good in it’s own right, especially since it wasn’t actually written by good ol j.k. all the rest i have yet to read haha.

    1. I can’t wait to read The Unexpected Everything! I loved Since You’ve Been Gone, so I hope I’ll love this book as well.
I’ll just have to see what I think of Cursed Child then

  3. I completely get you. I started my blog in the summer, too, and before that I was just reading whatever interested me, no matter the release year. Now my TBR is becoming crowded with new releases and upcoming releases. I always feel like I’m behind now, even though I know you should always choose to read whatever you want. But still, I feel like I have A LOT of catching up to do. I really wanted to read The Unexpected Everything last year, too, mostly because I love Matson and that cover is gorgeous. I also wanted to read something (anything) by V.E. Schwab haha. I hope you enjoy Heartless once you get around to it, though! I hope you get around to reading these soon 😀

    1. I feel the same way! I always feel behind, or that I need to catch up, it’s quite annoying really. I add more books to my tbr than I cross of, so it feels like I’m working towards a goal I can never reach…
Thank you! I hope I’ll enjoy all of them, and I hope you do too!

  4. I did really like This Savage Song but it isn’t my favourite VE Schwab book. To me it just felt like there was a little something missing but I’m not sure what. However the lack of romance was amazing and a fabulous change – it proves it can be done!!!

    1. After I read This Savage Song, I’m sure I’ll try the other books as well! I have not read any of her books yet and I’ve heard so many great things about them!

    1. Did you like the first? The second one has a big cliffhanger and I need to read the third one as well, but then I’d need to buy it and I don’t allow myself to buy any more books since my tbr is piling so high!
